UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON – MAIN CAMPUS FAQ’S


  1. How do I know if I am eligible for the Student Accident and Sickness Health Insurance? All Domestic students attending the University of Houston who are enrolled for 6 or more credit hours (3 for summer session) are eligible for coverage. Home study, correspondence, television and online courses do not fulfill credit hour requirements for students residing and taking classes outside the State of Texas.

    Non-Immigrant International Students enrolled in credit hours will be billed each semester (for the Basic Plan only) unless proof of other insurance is presented and a waiver granted.

  2. Where can I find a copy of the Plan?
    1. Booklets are available at the on-campus University Health Center; or
    2. You may download a booklet from www.macori.com/uh. Click on "Brochure or Booklet".

  3. Does the Plan provide coverage away from campus? Yes, the Plan provides coverage worldwide 24/7 for most benefits. However, utilizing the on-campus University Health Center or having a subsequent written referral from the University Health Center provides the greatest level of benefits.
    Students are also urged to use a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) member when possible as most provide a PPO discount (you may locate a Preferred Provider member from www.macori.com/uh. Click on "Locate a Provider”).

  4. How do I enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan?
    1. You may enroll online each semester at www.macori.com/uh. Click on "Enroll/Make a Payment".
    2. For the Basic Plan you may select the Student Health Insurance Option when enrolling for classes each Fall and Spring semester (Note: Spring enrollment includes Summer and the Optional Major Medical Plan is available online as shown in 4A above).

  5. Where do I get an ID card?
    1. An ID card is included as part of your online enrollment confirmation;
    2. Temporary ID cards may be downloaded from www.macori.com/uh. Click on "ID Cards & Forms";
    3. Permanent ID cards are mailed to the address provided at enrollment.

  6. What is my Policy Number?
    1. AMH9073440
    2. This number is also on your ID card and Booklet.

  7. How do I file a claim?
    1. Interactive claim forms are available online at www.macori.com/uh. Click on "ID Cards & Forms";
    2. Submit medical bills to Macori Administration, P.O. Box 2478, Spring, Tx 77383-2478;
    3. You may view your personal coverage and claim payments online from www.macori.com/uh. Click on "View My Account".

  8. How do I renew my insurance?
    1. Mark your calendar, coverage renews each semester when you enroll for classes (Spring semester includes Summer);
    2. Renewal notices are mailed to domestic students; however, timely renewal is each student’s responsibility. International Students will be charged for the Basic Plan each semester unless a waiver is obtained EACH Semester. Waiver Criteria and Deadlines are available at: www.macori.com/uh;
    3. Your coverage dates are available by logging into your account under "View My Account" at www.macori.com/uh.
